So this year (2009), I have a goal for myself: I am going to try to read 50 books. And, to help me keep track, I'm going to post them all here, on this page! Ooooh, Aaaaah! Everytime I finish a book, I will post the title and author, a picture of it, a little review/summary by me, and a rating out of five hearts. (5 being the best and 1 being...well...not so good.) I will post them in the order that I read them, so newest ones will be at the bottom.
1.Crowned By Julie Linker
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I personally really liked this book, I finished it in a day. It was really funny and lighthearted, and I just thought it was good =-)
2.Cathy's Book By ?
♥ ♥ ♥
Umm...I don't know. It was an ok book. Not amazing, not horrible. I thought it was just a little weird...but that's just my opinion. The cool thing though is that all the pages had little pictures and doodles :D
3.Aurelia By Anne Osterlund
♥ ♥
Well...I have to be honest, I didn't actually finish this book, but I did read most of it, so I'm putting this on the list, but I will read an extra book also. The book started out good, but then it just got...boring. The good thing about it though, is that one of the main character's name is Robert! (Like Robert Pattinson :D *swoon*)
4.Twilight (for the fourth time) By Stephenie Meyer
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Really like this book. Not obsessed with it anymore though. For those of you who don't know, Twilight is about a girl who falls in love with a vampire.
5.Pretty Little Liars By Sara Shepard
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Umm...this book was good, but there are some *cough* erm...mature themes and scenes, so I wouldn`t recommend it for young readers. It`s a mystery book (kind of) and there are three more books in the series. I think.
6.Twilight Directors Notebook By Catherine Hardewick
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I thought this book was very, very cool. If you're a Twilight fan, you should deffinitley read it. Basically, it just is full of concept art, sketches, interesting facts, and tons of stuff about the making of the Twilight movie. I thought it was awesome =-)
7.Harry Potter and the Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone (for the third time) By J.K. Rowling
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Well, I am a huuuuggggeee Harry Potter fan, so I already knew that I liked this book, but even though I'd already read it before, it was still awesome. I don't think I could ever get bored of re-reading HP books :D (Or Twilight :P)
8.Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets (for the third time) By J.K. Rowling
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
...Basically, my thoughts are the same from the post I made about the first HP book :P So...uh...see above.
9.A Question Of Loyalty By Barbara Greenwood
♥ ♥
Oh how I loathe school novel studies. That's what this book was. Never in a million years would I have chosen to read this by my own will. To be fair, I gave it two stars because it was written well (in terms of character development, plot line, grammar...etc...) but I just found it incredibly boring. No offense to anyone who likes it...
10.The Truth About Forever By Sarah Dessen
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
WOW. I'd heard that Sarah Dessen was a really good author, so I picked up this book along with another one of hers that I haven't started yet, and I am so glad I did because I loved this book. It started out a little slow and boring, but after that it got so good! Macy and Wes forever :P
11.Just Listen By Sarah Dessen
♥ ♥ ♥ and a half :P
Meh. The Truth About Forever was better, but this was still good. Macy and Wes made a cameo appearance on page 193! Woo!
12.Life In The Fat Lane By Cherie Bennett
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ and a half :P
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. Lol :D Really good story, good characters, funny but emotional at the same time. Although the cover picture is a bit...er...odd, it was a really great book :D
13.New Moon (Third Time) By Stephenie Meyer
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Well, everyone knows how much I love these books so I don't really feel the need to explain myself... :P
14.Eclipse (Third Time) By Stephenie Meyer
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Again, everyone knows how much I love these books so I don't really feel the need to explain myself... :P
15.An Abundance Of Katherines By John Green
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I'd seen some of John Green's videos on youtube (vlogbrothers) and thought they were really funny, so I wanted to read this, so I finally saw it at a book store a bought it. Lol :P I loved it! Really good characters, I love them all, my only complaint is that now I'm obsessed with anagramming things :P Wouldn't recommend it for younger people though, I think. There's some 'bad language' and a couple 'mature-ish themes' :P, there you go, that's my warning :P
16.Breaking Dawn (Third Time) By Stephenie Meyer
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ (and a half)
Although I do love the Twilight series, I didn't absolutely love Breaking Dawn, but I did really like it, so that's why I only gave it four and a half hearts :P
17.Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Askaban (Third Time) By J.K. Rowling
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
See number 7 & 8.
18.13 Little Blue Envelopes By Maureen Johnson
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I decided to read this because at the front of An Abundance Of Katherines (see number 15), it had book recommendations, and this was on it so I decided to read it, and it was really good! It was funny and exciting, and the characters are really good too. :D
19.This Lullaby By Sarah Dessen
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Again, just like Thirteen Little Blue Envelopes, this was a book recommendation in An Abundance of Katherine's, and I also like books by Sarah Dessen, so I picked this one. It was very, very good. The characters were flawed, but you still liked them. And I think Dexter is my favourite Sarah Dessen book character so far =)
20.Looking For Alaska By John Green
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Loved this book. Can't really say much without giving away the whole story, but let's just say there's a very shocking twist. Very funny, and loved the characters.
21.Paper Towns By John Green
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I literally couldn't put this down, I finished it in less than a day. I find that the main characters in John Green's books (Quentin, Miles and Colin) are all similar, but also very different from eachother...If that makes sense...Oh well :P I really loved this book.
22.Audrey, Wait! By Robin Benway
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I bought this book because 1. My mom's name is Audrey, and 2. On the back it had a lot of really good reviews, and it just looked good. A very, very, very good book in my opinion. It was really funny, and it was just a really nice quick and easy read. And, on page 57, there's a Harry Potter reference! :D
23.My Sister's Keeper By Jodi Picoult
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
I wanted to read this because I wanted to see the movie (which I did), but I wanted to read the book first. It was a very good book, and interesting because each chapter is from a different character's point of view. The movie was good too, but the ending was completely different from the book.
24.Girl At Sea By Maureen Johnson
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
It started off a little slow, so it was making me not want to read, but one day I decided to just sit down and finish it, which I did, and I'm glad because it got really good. Very unpredictable and fun characters.
25.Confessions Of A Shopaholic By Sophie Kinsella
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This is going to sound cheesy, but I was hooked from the first page of this book. I'd seen the movie 'Confessions Of A Shopaholic' that was based on this book, but the two are very different, so even though I thought I knew what was going to happen, I was usually wrong.
26.The Uninvited By Tim Wynne-Jones
♥ ♥ ♥ (and a half)
Hmm. Well. The first couple chapters I found confusing and a bit boring, but around chapter four, it got good. I still found it a bit confusing, and the ending was really surprising, but I liked the book.
27.Suite Scarlet By Maureen Johnson
♥ ♥ ♥ (and a half)
This book was the opposite of what I usually say. Usually, it's "Well, it started off slow, but then it got really, really good!" With this one...I thought it started off pretty good...but then nothing exciting really happened...I did love the characters though, which is important. It was good, but definitely not my favourite by Maureen Johnson...
28.Geek Charming By Robin Palmer
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Really, really, liked this one. I loved the characters, and it was really funny. I don't know if I really like the ending...It was different from what I thought was going to happen, but that's ok, it was still a really good book.
29.Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (third time) By J.K.Rowling
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
See numbers 7,8 and 17 :P
30.The Hunger Games By Suzanne Collins
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
>
31.The Carnivorous Carnival By Lemony Snicket
♥ ♥ ♥
32.The Slippery Slope By Lemony Snicket
♥ ♥ ♥
33.Catching Fire By Suzanne Collins
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
34., 35. and 36. Confessions of Georgia Nicholson By Louise Rennison
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
To save room because this page is getting very long, I'm just going to post all the books in this series here everytime I read one. Since that was confusing and I'm bad at explaining, what I mean is, where it shows what number book this is, when I read the next book in the series, I'll just put number __ beside the other ones, instead of making a new little paragraph thing for every book in the series :P
37.The Nanny Diaries By Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
♥ ♥ ♥
38.M or F By Lisa Papademetriou and Chris Tebbetts
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
39.Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List By Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
♥ ♥ (and a half)
40.Paparazzi Princess By Jen Calonita
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
41.The Key To The Golden Firebird By Maureen Johnson
